Meet the Family
Capo Creek is the second act for Dr. Mary Roy and Dr. Bob Covert. After distinguished careers in medicine and raising six children, they discovered a shared passion for wine, food, farming, and hospitality.
Today, Mary, a retired radiologist, serves as Capo Creek’s chef, winemaker, CEO, marketer, and host. She is personally involved in nearly every aspect of the winery—from vineyard planning and wine blending to menu creation, guest experiences, and welcoming visitors to Mary’s Table.
Bob continues to practice as a neonatologist while helping guide vineyard planning, harvest, bottling, and the many projects that keep the winery growing. Guests who join Behind the Vines with the Owners quickly discover his love of the land, his curiosity, and his gift for sharing the stories behind the vineyard.
Capo Creek is also a true family winery. Mary’s sister, Nadine Roy, is co-owner and the heart of our wine club, creating lasting relationships with members and helping every guest feel like part of the Capo Creek family. Her wife, Peg, is affectionately known as “The Fixer”—the person everyone turns to when something needs repairing, organizing, or simply making things happen. Whether she’s lending a hand in the kitchen during events or quietly solving problems behind the scenes, Peg has a remarkable way of making everything look effortless. They split their time with their cat, Pretty Girl, between Asheville, NC & Geyserville, CA, also originally from Naperville, IL.
Together, we’ve created something increasingly rare: a family-run winery where the owners remain personally involved in every detail. We hope you’ll leave with a few new favorite wines, a few new stories, and the feeling that you’ll always have a place at Capo Creek.
